Sigh...

There are few people as deluded and/or dishonest as the supporters of Ergun Caner. They will twist what you say, ignoring context just to score some points. They're not scoring them with the Lord Jesus, of course, as such dishonesty is evidence that they do not know him nor love him.

Seeing the claims of 'bullying' coming even from the likes of Emir Caner, who either has never been bullied, or simply is wishing to believe the lie, is astounding.  The fact that Emir himself states that "cyber-bullying may have been the cause" is beyond sinful speculation. These people have no shame.

Braxton Caner was a typical teen who had rougher exchanges, using foul language and images, with his own peers than he did with Jordan Hall.  Braxton's social profile was (and still is, you can look up his various profiles yourself) riddled with profanity, sexual innuendo and photos of he and his girlfriend in various states of romantic physical contact, even in a bathroom.

The fact that the some in the SBC have swept all that (and the fact that it was nearly a month prior) under the rug in order to villanize Hall, and Calvinists in general, is just more evidence of the utterly sinful mindset of these people.

What makes more sense, that Braxton Caner was so distraught over a few tweets followed by an apology that he took his own life nearly a month after the fact, or due the ongoing strife in his life because of the revelations that his father's entire testimony was fabricated?  Where was his father during this difficult time but many states away, and clearly not monitoring his own son's social profiles (or maybe his behavior is typical for the sons of seminary presidents.) Perhaps Braxton was facing yet another move and broken relationships because of his father's lifestyle... the fact is we don't know.  But we can be quite sure that a few tweets by Jordan Hall, followed by an apology, hardly amounts to "cyberbullying".

Regardless, Ergun Caner remains an unrepentant liar, who even lied to the US Marine Corps, and who continues to lie to gain positions of authority in Christian communities and schools around the country.  Instead of reflecting on his decades of lies in the light of his son's death, instead of falling before the Almighty God in repentance, he and his cronies attempt to lay the blame at anyone other than where it belongs.

This is the video that Ergun Caner sued to have removed. This is the video in which Caner claims to have been trained in Jihad, born in Turkey, etc.  This is not doctored, edited or otherwise manipulated.

Ergun sued fellow Christians to keep this video off the Internet claiming copyrights to the video even though the video was obtained using the Freedom of Information Act and posted in Fair Use. A recent lawsuit brought by Caner was dismissed by the judge in the case.

"Smathers claims that he posted he videos featuring Dr. Caner as a religiously based criticism of a public figure and, thus, his posting constituted fair use. The Court notes that Dr. Caner haS apparently conceded this issue since he has offered no argument in his response with respect to Smathers’s assertion of fair use. See Boswell v. Dep’t of Treasury, Office of Comptroller of Currency, 979 F. Supp. 458, 465 (N.D. Tex. 1997) (Solis, J.). Dr. Caner’s concession notwithstanding, the facts of this case support the application of fair use."

Not only did Caner lie, but he brought a lawsuit against a fellow SBC pastor and member. He attempted to cover up the truth of his past so as to continue to reap income from his lies. And this is a seminary president?

I received some scans from John Ankerberg's book Middle East Meltdown: Oil, Israel, and the Religion Behind the Crisis,  Harvest House Publishers (February 1, 2007), in which Ankerberg quotes Caner as saying:

"One of the great Islamic apologists, Shabir Ali, would always ask in debate, 'What would one man's death have to do with me?'"

 A couple things to note, Ergun Caner claimed in 2007 to have debated Shabir Ally and even said that he had died. (Shabir is alive and has never debated Ergun Caner.)



Now, notice in this video, Ergun is claiming to have debated Shabir as well as "Abdul Saleeb" (which means "Servant of the Cross", for a guy who claims to know Arabic, he should have known!)  The fact is, none of these debates he claims to have engaged in has ever happened. Ergun has never even met Shabir Ally.

This is the man that Arlington Baptist Seminary and now Brewton-Parker College have hired and trusted the education of their students to.

Ergun Caner opened himself to his Twitter followers last night and received a bit more negative feedback than he expected.

Keep in mind, Ergun is SUING an SBC pastor for copyright violation over these videos he now claims were faked.  It seems Ergun's plan has been to get rid of the evidence and then claim it was all faked. Now, I've posted on this before, but head over there and note how many of those videos have been deleted or have gone dark.

It's amazing that there are people out there still uneducated about this guy and willing to stand up for him even though he's made a mockery of the Gospel and lied to our country's own servicemen following 9/11/2001.

I've provided links to the Vimeo files where you can watch Ergun Caner's various testimonies over the years.  These are not the originals in most cases, he's DMCA'd most of those, so I'm providing time-stamps as to when you can hear the various claims. You can download these from Vimeo, and I recommend you do, as it is only a matter of time before Caner has these DMCA'd also. 

Since 2010, Ergun has radically altered his testimony from his post-9/11 version.  He now admits to having been born in Sweden, but still intimates that he was a Islamist. One must wonder how much of an Islamist a pre-9/11 Turkish-Swedish child can be, being raised Ohio and attending American public schools.

Ergun Caner strikes back

Ergun Caner has been attempting for many years to scrub his record of purposeful exaggeration and outright lies. Before being fired by Liberty University, he hired a reputation-cleansing company that created several spammy blogs and commented on others the same engrish mis-spelled posts.

He has recently taken to having a local lawyer and Facebook pal issue DMCA take-downs of videos of his sermons/testimonies as well as those containing (under fair-use) clips of his videos.



The above video is property of the US Government and was publically distributed. It contains Ergun Caner making several false claims about his life to US Marines destined to fight in the Middle East.

A few Christian bloggers took to posting the actual video files on their own personal servers. Ergun in turn, today, filed lawsuits against them.

Keep in mind, most of these videos were not the property of, nor recorded by Ergun Caner. Their copyright belongs to those who recorded them. This blatant misuse of the DMCA and the suing of Christian brothers should clear up anyone's doubts about Caner's reputation.

Please share this post and/or the link to the case so that the evangelical world will see Caner for what he is.
