A man who had just started attending the church, who's understanding of the Word of God was quite limited, approached the group of men standing near the pastor and, introducing himself, spoke of his appreciation for the pastor's message. Then, as he was about to leave the man noted that he was under obligation to his wife to go home and mow the lawn.
The pastor, shocked at the bold declaration by the man, berated him about not keeping the Sabbath and asked him if it was honoring God to mow his lawn on the Sabbath. This continued for a few minutes. The man, not knowing what to say, having never studied the Sabbath laws left in confusion.
All those of you with big leather bibles or have your wife cook dinner better study what the word says...
Jeremiah 17:22
"You shall not bring a load out of your houses on the sabbath day nor do any work, but keep the sabbath day holy, as I commanded your forefathers.
Colossians 2:16
Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day--
Hebrews 4:9-10
So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.
This is my comment, satisfied??

ReplyDeletePraise the Lord he was just a guest pastor...imagine having a regular pastor who is as clueless as that about the sabbath.
